Q：Silver is a kind of heavy metal. Is it safe for human body?
A：Silver ion has strong bactericidal effects and has been used even in drinking water since ancient times. With reference to EPA and WHO Reference Dose for Chronic Oral Exposure (RfD), silver is a type of heavy metal and it has a safety threshold guideline. In general, the RfD is an estimate of a daily exposure to the human population that is likely to be without an appreciable risk of deleterious effects during a lifetime. As per RfD guideline, the safe intake of silver is 350μg per day based on a 70Kg organism. With each iBrea spray of 0.3ml, 80% of the undigestible silver metal passed out of the body via daily disposal, and 20% passed into the ionic form (assumption of the worst case). For ionic silver EPA retention standard for an organism is 4%, which means that with each spray of 0.3ml, only 2.4μg of silver is retained. This is very much lower than the specified value provided by EPA & WHO, so it is safe for organism and humans.
